Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit marty-explains-tech.com, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In short: we do not use cookies, we do not store anything on your device, there are no user accounts, and our analytics work without personal data.
1. Controller
LUZARI GbRFroschkönigweg 3, 31787 Hameln, Germany
Email: info@luzari-games.com
Full details are in our imprint. We have not appointed a data protection officer because we are not legally required to do so.
2. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your browser automatically sends technical data that Vercel processes to deliver the website and keep it secure: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. Vercel also derives your country and city from the IP address.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in delivering a secure, working website. Vercel processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). Vercel keeps log data only for the minimum period necessary and then deletes or anonymizes it.
3. Country detection for Amazon buttons
To label our Amazon buttons with the store you will actually land on (for example “Amazon.de” instead of “Amazon”), your browser asks our server for your country once per page view. The country is derived by Vercel from your IP address; we only receive a two-letter country code, do not store it and do not combine it with other data. Nothing is saved on your device.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in showing correct shop information.
4. Analytics (Umami Cloud)
We use Umami Cloud, provided by Umami Software, Inc. (USA), to count page views and clicks on Amazon links. Umami does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device. It identifies visits with an anonymous session identifier and, according to the provider, does not collect personally identifiable information and anonymizes the data it collects.
Processed are: the page visited, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type and country. When you click an Amazon link, we additionally record which link was clicked (position on the page, product, page) and your country. We use this data only in aggregated form to understand which content is helpful and to improve the website. The analytics script is loaded only on marty-explains-tech.com.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly reach measurement. Umami processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement; some of its subprocessors are located in the USA. You can object to this processing at any time (see section 9).
5. Amazon affiliate links
Marty Explains Tech participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Links to Amazon contain our partner ID so that Amazon can attribute purchases to us. When you click such a link, you leave our website and Amazon processes your data under its own responsibility, including cookies Amazon may set on its website. We only receive aggregated reports (for example, the number of clicks and orders) and no personal data about you. Visitors from some countries are forwarded by Amazon to their local Amazon store. Information on data processing by Amazon is available in Amazon’s privacy notice on the respective Amazon website.
We do not display product prices or data from Amazon’s interfaces at this time. Learn more in our affiliate disclosure.
6. Fonts and images
All fonts and images are delivered from our own server. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or other font or image services.
7. Links to other websites
Our reviews link to manufacturer websites and independent test publications as sources, and to our YouTube channel. These websites are operated under the responsibility of their providers; their privacy policies apply once you follow a link.
8. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering inquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract. We delete the data when it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR),
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.
To exercise your rights, email info@luzari-games.com.
10. Other information
You are not obliged to provide personal data; without the technical data described in section 2 the website cannot be displayed. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. We update this policy when our website or the legal situation changes.
